Delivery of Livestock Services: Sustainability

PAN Livestock has internationally acknowledged experience in the analysis of livestock service provision, and the sustainability of service structures. PAN Livestock staff offer proven expertise in the evaluation, design and planning of appropriate and sustainable livestock services. In addition to public service support and capacity building, PAN Livestock has particular expertise in the role and implementation of private services and structures, and decentralised service structures.

Specialist consultancy services are provided to government and non-government institutions for identifying and implementing sustainable financing mechanisms for livestock services, and the application of cost recovery analysis to those services.

Recent activities:

• Review of ecto-parasite control under process of veterinary service privatisation, Mongolia (GTZ).

• Development of systems to transfer disease control responsibilities from the public to the private sector, Zambia (EU).
